Ikebana, ikenobo, the process of learning ikebana for a beginner, the process by which ikebana study opened the door for me to a fascination with Japan, its history and culture. About this Japan blogger
I am a writer by profession. I taught writing for many years as a university professor and am now retired from New Mexico State University. I also have taught English as a Foreign Language. I work part-time as a freelance writer and study ikenobo with Dan dell’ Agnese, president of the Colorado Ikenobo Society. I am a member of Ikebana International, Chapter 41, and also of the Colorado Ikenobo Society. I also belong to the Japan America Society of New Mexico and study the Japanese language.
