New Blog: In the Inaka

Intheinaka is a simple blog documenting the travails of one British exchange student living in and experiencing the Japanese countryside. Bringing you photos from Matsuyama City, Ehime Daigaku, and anything I happen to lay my viewfinder on, and my ramblings on many things Japan!

About the author of this Japan blog

“Hey all, my name is Matt and this is my blog detailing my year abroad studying in Japan. As part of my degree (I’ve just completed the second year of a Japanese BA at Oxford Brookes University) I’ll be spending a year in the city of Matsuyama, the largest city on the smallest of Japan’s four main islands, Shikoku. Whilst there I will be attending Ehime University (愛媛大学), but also making the most of my opportunity to experience a different side of Japan from that which most people will envision when imagining what life in the Land of the Rising Sun would be like. Armed with my trusty little Ricoh digital camera, I’ll be trying to capture as much of my year abroad as possible, and blogging about it whenever I can, to let those who want to know what life in a more rural area of Japan is like.”
