New Blog: Kansai Gaijin

A fun perspective on travels in Japan from an American studying abroad. Focus on shrines and temples, shopping districts, and random cultural experiences during a 9 month-long stay in the middle of Kyoto and Osaka.

About this Japan blogger

I’m a junior double majoring in Business Admin and Japanese. Right now, I’m studying abroad at Kansai Gaidai in Osaka, Japan. I have a passion for sewing and a loving boyfriend in Atlanta attending Georgia Tech. I hope to one day study fashion design and own a small business. I also would love to become fluent in Japanese and work as a correspondent between the US and Japan at an international company. But right now, I just hope I can learn as much as I can and soak up Japan’s culture all while having the time of my life during this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

New Blog: Sleepy Tako

Little did he know that five years later he would have a new last name, a beautiful wife, a baby girl, an addiction to onsen and riding trains, a drivers license, a pension, a refrigerator, two air conditioning units, a washlet, and premature gray hairs growing from his beard. When he’s not working, sleepytako is taking photos of urban detritus, working on cataloging and visiting the various onsen and sento in Kansai, and slowly completing his goal of riding every train line in Japan.
