Hello! I go by Rekari online, or Reka for short. I am a huge otaku and even bigger fan of Japanese Culture. As a writer, I’ve decided to share my love for Japan with everyone through the form of journalism and reviewing. Otaku Culture is usually portrayed negatively by the media, but who says you can’t be a positive Otaku? I feel that by looking at the bigger picture, being an Otaku isn’t so bad.

This is a photography site exploring the hiking trails and outdoors of Japan mostly focused on the less frequented trails surrounding Tokyo. The aim of the site is to share my hiking experiences and hopefully provide some inspiration for others to enjoy the many trails offered on Tokyo’s doorstep.
As for me – I have been living in Japan since July 2007, first in a small town in Fukushima and now on the outskirts of Tokyo which makes for easy getaways to the surrounding mountains. As a person who has both a love of hiking and photography and other outdoorsy pursuits I felt the best way to amalgamate the two was a website/blog.
